LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (AP) - A Republican congressman's re-election to his central Arkansas seat against a cancer survivor who targeted his vote for repealing the health care law shows how much of a challenge the state remains for Democrats.
Republican Rep. French Hill defeated Democratic challenger Clarke Tucker in the 2nd Congressional District, and the state's other three GOP congressman easily won re-election.
Hill, who was first elected to the seat in 2014, says his win shows voters agree the district is better off. But he says Congress needs to focus on fixes to the immigration and health care systems.
Tucker says he is proud of the campaign he ran.
