Scott Elementary School Reviews

My son started Kindergarten at Scott Elementary this year. So far he really enjoys his school. The educational program has really improved and the kindergarten teachers are communicating very well. They send home a behavior chart everyday for me to sign. I am constantly able to monitor my son's progress and he is doing great. They also have a new principal. She is very upbeat, exciting and truly has the best interests for the children in mind. They also have a brand new playground with very safe and fun equipment. It could use some more updating in the building but it is also steadily improving.

My child attends Scott Elem. and I love the close knit environment. His teacher is very involved with his education and progress. The only issue I have with this school is that I think all buildings on this property need to be torn down and rebuilt with new modern facilitys and equipment. My child can not even get onto the school computer because the system is so slow. The school also needs after school activities such as baseball and soccor teams.

Scott School has been a wonderful experience for my son the last few years. They have a new principal who is wonderful. He plays sports with the children and is always involved. It is a great home-town school where your children can feel very comfortable with caring staff. My son was taught very well by the teachers who are very competent. However, the school is in need of repairs and more money. They did get some great playground equipment this year by money raised through the PTO. Thanks for taking such good care of my child through his elementary years.

Scott Elementary is a wonderful school. I have two children at this school and they have both received a wonderful education. I have family in a private school and my daughter is studying on a higher level than my niece in a higher grade and making better grades. All schools have some problems, however Scott has wonderful, caring teachers and a great staff! All Arkansas schools need their buildings improved and to degrade one school because of roof leaks when it has so much to offer doesn't make much sense. The PTO is ran by parents and the meetings are scheduled by parents, not the school. I have been a member of the PTO for five years and they have accomplished alot. Most parents are actively involved in all school functions. This is a great place to send your child and I would recommend it to anyone (and have!)

Scott is a wonderful place to be! The school is full of caring, dedicated teachers who strive to provide the best education possible to a wide spectrum of students. The PTO is now very active and Scott has wonderful leadership. The staff has an open door policy and is always concerned about my child. I wouldn't want to be anywhere else!

Scott Elementary... I would not recommend this school to anyone looking! The school has had the same play ground equipment since I was in school there.(20 yrs. ago) The PTA (when 'they' had one) never could get 'their' schedules together. Then you are a bad parent if you aren't able to attend the meeting...oh but then again they are at 2:00 in the afternoon when most people work! My child had 5 teachers in the 2nd grade, the next year it took all year for my child to catch up on learning what my child should have learn in the second grade! (on top of that my childs teacher was not in to teaching at all and even would tell you that.)there is not any communication, they will not take of any business of any sort! the roof leaks. Finally I took my child out and that was the best thing I should have done a long time ago.(The Teacher he would have had was a new one to teaching we didn't need that) I would take a tour for myself and ask some questions and see for myself...it will not take much and you will see. Also if you are looking for a school and are wanting to buy a home I would give this some thought...after 5th grade your child has to go about 30 miles to another school. good luck!
