Jacksonville Christian Academy Reviews

My daughter is now attending Kindergarten at Jacksonville Christian Academy after attending Pre-K at that center previous. We love that when my child is dropped of in the morning she is greeted by the same person that knows her name and at the end of the day she is walked to the car by a person that knows her as well as me. The discipline that she learns from this environment is awesome. She learns something new everyday. She can read small words and write most everything you sound out. Where as most kindergartens are working on letter and colors. I am so pleased with the environment that JCA provides for my child!

We moved to Cabot for the school system then found JCA before our kids started school. I had heard it was the best. I would have to agree. There is nothing like having your 4 and 5 year old come home and show you they can write their names (print and cursive) and read (actually sound out) words! I see the difference in the kids who are of similar age in our neighborhood and feel like we are giving our children the best start in life. My kids know they are loved by their teachers and come home everyday with a new song or verse they learned. You can't put a price on spirituality and education! As far as extracurricular activities go, they may not have everything parents would like them to have but that doesn't mean there aren't opportunities in the community.

I transferred my daughter in the middle of the kindergarten year into JCA from another private Catholic school and was absolutely amazed at the higher level of education that she was receiving. I found myself wondering what she was actually learning before she came to JCA. I could not be more pleased with the leadership of the school, with the high christian standards that they uphold, and of the values that my child is learning. I am now transferring my oldest girl into JCA for the next year and couldn't be happier. If high christian standards, morals and values along with an excellent education that far exceeds any other school in this area is not important to you, then maybe JCA isn't the right place for your child. But, if these things matter there is no better place for your child than JCA. The sacrifices that I make are well worth it.

To respond to one of the negative comments about our school. We are involved with more extracurricular activities than ever before. With sports for elementary grades and musical, art, speech and academic competitions statewide in our association of schools, we have MANY opportunities for involvement other than the regular school schedule. Also, while at these competitions, our students won more 1st and 2nd place awards than any other school. That goes for elementary level and the Junior High level and the High School level. Secondly, any parent who says we are different once they get into the school, must not have been listening very well when they came into the school. We interview with every student and at least one of his/her parents before granting entry into JCA, and next to all info. about us is discussed in that meeting. I am sure that fact has alot to do with 98% of parents being very pleased with our ministry here. Please understand also, that in our High School level, we have very high standards that many do not appreciate us having, much less enforcing. Surely, some negative feedback will be the result of these high standards and the strong belief in them.

WE are very pleased with the overall academic and spiritual training our kids are getting at JCA. It is the most important peace in the world to know that you are placing your children in a classroom where they are loved and taught, not just one or the other. Our family makes a big financial sacrifice to have our kids at JCA, and it is one we have never, and will never regret. Thanks JCA faculty!!

This school puts on a show of how they are but when you get into the school things change. They are not what they appear to be. I advise people who are thinking of sending their children to this school to please check it out very carefully and make sure that it is for you.

I dont believe that kids go to school to to have a great time, but there education should be enjoyable. There is virtually no extra curricular activities to include sports and art at the 5th grade level or below. They do offer volley ball for the Sr. high level. I found the church doctrine to be legalistic and void of Love. I liked the aspects of a Christian based education, they use the Abeka curriculum. Home work was excessive being up to 3 hrs every night at times. Parents are not allowed/encouraged to get involved in the class or the schools activities. Be warned... Appearances are deceiving.

JCA has been a wonderful experience for my children. They are definately learning. Each year they are more advanced in comparison with other schools. The teachers are all exceptional. The entire school is organized and the children know they are loved.

I always knew my daughter would not go to the same public school I did. She is is 1st grade and is already learning things I didn't learn until 3rd and 4th grade. She is receiving the best education I could hope for in this school.

I love the quality education my daughter receives at JCA. The teachers are actually in controll of the classrooms and the learning system is great. My second grader at JCA is far advanced and deciplined when compared to her cousin a 4th grader in public schools.
