Northwood Middle School Reviews

I think the school is horrible too. We now only have four minutes to get to classes and the first time you get caught with a cellphone or electronic device they suspend you for 2 days. We only have 30 minutes to eat lunch. They fill the classes up and then switch everyone out. This year I got my schedule change 3 weeks into school. We still don't have enough books for every student where as Cabot has the same book for Home and school let's see if you have 6 books at school altogether that'd be 12 books. We now have to pay 2.25 for a horrible unhealthy and unsanitary lunch and as I said before we only have 30 minutes to eat it. Yeah you guys got it the school is horrible. ^-^

This faculty is absolutely horrible! I totally agree with the previous parent who stated it is the worst in the state. Being military my children have attended schools in Colorado, Florida, and Virginia but I have never saw any administration facilitated as such. The principal is never available and the vice principal does not have a 'CLUE'! The building should have been condemed 20 years ago. Jacksonville keep the press on - I can't speak for the rest of the school district but Pulaski County Special School District, has definitely failed: 1. The student body 2. The community 3. The taxpayer So much for 'No Child Left Behind'

This school is very un-sanitary for the students. It is one of the worst schools in the state of Arkansas. There are many terrible students. The teachers are slow and rude. I went to my childs confrence and the teacher couldnt even keep up with my childs work and responsibilitys. The principal is never there most of the time. The students never obey and are very violent. My child has been bullied and hates your school! This school needs some dicipline!!!!!!thank you

The principal is there only part time. She wasn't even there the entire first day of school last year! The kids only have 5 minutes to get to each class, can not carry their backpacks to class, and some classes do not even have books! If my child wasn't a good student, he would have a difficult time. The only good thing is a couple of the teachers use edline which is very helpful. The counselor I have spoke with is great and they have a great band program! As with every school there has been some instances of drug use and other related problems at the school but not too bad. I don't believe there is an officer at the school which may or may not help the situation. The kids are not allowed any phone calls or messages which is not good. Overall the school needs lots of improvements!

Northwood seems to be coming along well. The thing that concerns me is not having an officer on campus. This is the age where kids tend to get out of control. There is a lack of staff sufficient to accommodate the number of students at this school. I think that everyone involved needs to take a step back and review what works and what doesn't and then make appropriate changes necessary to make it all work.
